The JCFS Difference
Preparing graduates with the skills, mindset, and experience employers value most
The difference in JW Kim College of Future Studies is in our approach to education. Our program is designed with a global student-centric approach and agile curriculum that provides our graduates with the skills they need in the dynamic environment of today’s technology industry. In addition, while our curriculum teaches technical skills that are similar to those of other programs, here at JCFS, we also focus on the soft skills that employers find essential.
College graduates "ability to work in teams" and "critical thinking skills" are rated as the most important skill by employers with more than 60% of employers believing they are "very important" with another 31% and 35% rating them as 'somewhat important' respectively.
— Employer Report 2021, The American Association of Colleges and Universities
These soft skills include providing opportunities for our students to enhance their ability to lead. Industry experts have noted that new graduates often lack the ability to immediately step into leadership roles due to a lack of experience. That is why at JCFS we focus on creating innovative leaders with actual global experiences. Our global campuses, in places like Germany, provide opportunities to develop your critical and creative thinking, communication, and leadership skills. Live and work together as a cohort as you strive to complete projects and explore new cultures. Gain experience as you navigate new environments with access to world-renowned facilities and research institutes while being supported by our innovative on/off-line hybrid learning platform.
JCFS’s technology-based curriculum combined with our team-based and project-oriented teaching methods provide the leadership opportunities and management skills employers need. Our program is specifically designed to give you the crucial lessons and experience of heading a team or project, so you have the skills and confidence to take the lead on projects and stand out from other new hires. With experiences designed to boost your career after graduation, JCFS provides you with a unique chance to intern at the renowned German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. Have a real impact and take learning beyond the boundaries of your typical classroom.

Forming the Future of Education in Asia
Vision:
The vision of JCFS is to form the future of university education in Asia. The world is changing at a rapid pace with revolutionary changes taking place all the time, changing the way we live and work. The fundamental changes in technologies, sometimes referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, are changing jobs and professional structures.
Yet, the universities we see today are not much different from the universities of the 20th century. The traditional set of majors, the in-class lecturing system, learning based on memorization of theoretical concepts and frameworks still dominate university education. JCFS aims to change this. JCFS proposes a new and unique educational system, unprecedented in Asia. JCFS will transcend all of the learning boundaries in the traditional educational system and provide education for the leaders of the future.
Educational Strategy:
JCFS will embody the future of university education in Asia through three pillars of educational strategy. First, JCFS offers a student-centric agile curriculum. First, JCFS offers a student-centric agile curriculum. JCFS now has two core majors - Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science - that are the most demanded areas of study in today’s technological and business environment. To keep our promise of being agile, the AI major will be expanded to AI & HCI (Artificial Intelligence & Human-Computer Interaction) starting in 2026. However, the real difference JCFS brings to students is the various convergence modules that will be continuously selected based on student feedback and market demand, which are essential to every business and future organizations. The modules will target very specialized fields, enabling you to converge your knowledge in your major onto a specific job within an industry to give you an edge.
Second, JCFS has multinational learning environments and all students will study in foreign countries. This is not an exchange student program where only a handful of students get an opportunity to study abroad. All students will become a true global citizen by living and learning in different countries. The future will need professionals who can understand diverse cultures of the world and be confident working in countries with different business environments. JCFS will help you gain such global capabilities by providing education in multinational learning environments along with a real-world project.
Third, JCFS provides an innovative, hybrid learning platform that incorporates both online and offline learning. Online learning will enable you to get instruction and mentoring from world-class experts no matter where you are or where the experts are. The boundary of geographic location will no longer hinder you from being taught by global top experts. The online learning platform will also help you immerse yourself in your area of study by providing various learning guides and open source material for your self-study. Offline projects will let you engage in team-based work with your culturally diverse fellow students. Your offline learning will be guided and supported by our regional mentors.
We invite you to take this exciting opportunity to learn from everywhere, with everyone and anytime in a creative and innovative way. Come join us and let’s create a different future together!

Message from the Dean
I warmly welcome you to our institution. JCFS is a College established to cultivate cutting-edge leaders who can lead in a world that is changing faster than ever. At the heart of this rapid transformation is the advancement of information technology that involves collecting, analyzing, processing, and intelligently utilizing a wide array of information. Therefore, cutting-edge leaders must excel in knowledge and skills in this field and establish a clear vision for the future and strong leadership.
To nurture such leaders, JCFS’s goal is to create a new educational paradigm by adopting an innovative educational philosophy plus system that enhances existing models. Based on a distinguished faculty and qualified content, we strive to provide students with opportunities to engage with the most current knowledge and information. These opportunities go beyond ‘transfer of knowledge’, utilizing various programs to ensure that students can personalize and develop their competencies and qualities.
Especially, JCFS's curriculum is based on a flipped learning approach, where students engage in pre-learning, experiential activities, and discussions in a cyclical manner. This educational model is implemented through project-based practical learning, where theoretical knowledge is applied in collaborative projects with faculty. All of this is designed to move beyond abstract, theory-focused education to provide personalized learning that caters to the individual needs and characteristics of each student.
I hope that you, and those you know who visit JCFS, come to understand and appreciate these features and advantages of our college and consider choosing JCFS as a significant step in your future career.
